A gentle soul with incredible tracking ability
Sadie is a Bloodhound and Doberman mix with one of the gentlest natures of any dog on the reserve.
When she arrived, it was clear she had experienced a difficult past and had previously been trained in an aggressive way. But none of that stopped her from forming a strong bond with her new handlers and finding her place within the K9 team.
Sadie created an immediate connection with Kagiso at Base 2, where she now lives alongside fellow K9, Monty.
Intelligent, affectionate and eager to please, Sadie took to her new training well and is now recognised for her outstanding tracking abilities.
Her confidence around new people and unfamiliar noises has grown hugely, which is an incredible achievement and a real credit to Kagiso’s patience and care.
Sadie is a true character who needs ongoing support to continue developing her skills and tracking poachers over long distances.
